This composite was made from the 2017 Solar Eclipse and 2019 Lunar Eclipse photographed in North America. The concept for this piece was conceived 19 years before finally taking the images to complete it. It would have been completed in 2000 using the 1999 solar eclipse shot in Romania and the Lunar eclipse shot that year but the second half of the event was lost when my film snapped in half. It was 5 below zero that night and film breaks easily at extreme temperatures. Astrophotography teaches lessons in patients time and time again.
